TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Applicable for All Self-Drive Vehicle Rentals by The Travelit

1. DRIVING ELIGIBILITY

Hirer must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid Indian driving license with at least 1 year of driving experience.
Only the Hirer and authorized additional drivers (whose documents are submitted) may operate the vehicle.
Foreign nationals must possess an International Driving Permit (IDP).

2. VEHICLE USAGE POLICY

Vehicle is for self-drive use only and cannot be sub-let, used for passenger transport, race, rally, towing, off-roading (unless authorized), or any illegal activity.
The vehicle shall not be driven under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any intoxicant.
Smoking, consumption of alcohol, or transporting animals is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle unless approved.

3. DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED

Valid Driving License (Original and Copy)
Government ID Proof (Aadhar/Passport/PAN)
Security Deposit (as per vehicle class)
Recent Photograph
Local Contact and Emergency Number

4. PAYMENTS & DEPOSIT

Full rental payment and refundable security deposit must be made before vehicle handover.
Security deposit will be refunded within 3-5 working days after vehicle return, post-inspection.
Late return fee: ₹______ per hour beyond the scheduled return time. After 6 hours = full-day rental.

5. FUEL POLICY

Vehicles are provided with full/partial fuel; Hirer must return with equivalent fuel level.
Fuel discrepancy charges: ₹______ per litre (as per market rates).

6. DAMAGE, THEFT & INSURANCE

Hirer is responsible for all damages occurring during the rental period.
Minor damages (scratches, dents, tire/rim issues) will be charged as per actual repair cost.
In case of major accident or theft, Hirer must immediately file FIR and inform The Travelit.

Insurance excess/deductible up to ₹_______ is Hirer’s responsibility.
Insurance does not cover: Unauthorized driver use, Drunken driving, Reckless/off-road use, Tyre bursts or undercarriage damage.
Total loss/theft due to Hirer’s negligence = Full vehicle market value recovery.

7. TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS & PENALTIES

All traffic fines, challans, towing charges, and legal liabilities during the rental are borne by Hirer.
Non-payment or concealment of fines will result in deduction from deposit or legal action.

8. VEHICLE CONDITION & RETURN

Vehicle must be returned in the same condition with original accessories (jack, toolkit, music system, etc.)
Cleaning fee ₹______ applicable for dirty interiors or external dirt.
Excess mileage (if applicable) charged @ ₹______ per km.
Late return beyond agreed time without approval may lead to vehicle tracking and recovery action.

9. CANCELLATION & REFUND

Cancellation 24+ hrs before pickup: Full refund
Cancellation <24 hrs: 50% deduction
No-show / Early return: No refund or adjustment.

10. INDEMNITY CLAUSE

The Hirer indemnifies The Travelit against all losses, damages, legal claims, and liabilities arising out of:
– Accidents caused due to negligence
– Traffic violations and law enforcement action
– Breach of rental terms
– Use of vehicle for unauthorized purposes

11. GPS TRACKING & PRIVACY

All vehicles are GPS enabled for security and monitoring.
Data is used solely for tracking, safety, and legal compliance.

12. TERMINATION OF AGREEMENT

The Travelit reserves the right to terminate this agreement and seize the vehicle if:
– Terms are violated
– Vehicle is misused or damaged
– Payment is defaulted
– Vehicle not returned on agreed date/time

13. FORCE MAJEURE

The Travelit shall not be liable for delays or non-performance due to natural disasters, strikes, government actions, or any force majeure event.

14. LEGAL JURISDICTION

All disputes shall be subject to Dehradun, Uttarakhand jurisdiction.
Disputes will first attempt amicable resolution, failing which legal action shall be pursued.

16. BREAKDOWN & REPLACEMENT POLICY

In the event of any mechanical failure or breakdown during the rental period, the following terms shall apply:
Repair Time Commitment: The Travelit will arrange to have the vehicle repaired within 6 hours of being informed by the Hirer. No rental charges will be applied for the downtime duration.
Alternate Vehicle Provision: If the repair cannot be completed within 6 hours, The Travelit may provide an alternate vehicle, subject to availability, with or without a driver.
Hirer’s Responsibility: Breakdown caused due to Hirer’s negligence or misuse will make the Hirer liable for full repair costs, and no replacement vehicle will be provided.
Reporting Procedure: Hirer must immediately inform The Travelit’s Customer Support. Assistance will be arranged through authorized service centers or roadside support partners.
Force Majeure Exception: In case of breakdowns caused by natural calamities or external events beyond control, replacement or repair timelines may vary.
